We offer a huge selection of fly fishing courses covering topics such as fly casting, fly tying, entomology and spey Casting. Fly fishing classes are taught at both our Surrey and our Vancouver fly shop locations and many include an on the water session. We also offer up private fly casting lessons that can be scheduled at your convenience.

Vedder River Winter Steelhead

<p>Join Matt Bentley of Bentley's Fishing Adventures for a full day of rafting down the Vedder/Chilliwack River in pursuit of the elusive Winter Steelhead on a two-handed rod. Learn how to target these fish on the fly, how to read water, what appropriate equipment to use (flies, lines, sink tips, rods, etc). </p>

Most of the year the river is high and tough to fish but in the cold months the river is beautiful with an abundance of Cutthroat Trout, Rainbow Trout, Bull Trout and Whitefish. On The Water Sea Run Bull Trout - Pitt River

<p>A full day of swinging flies for big, aggressive sea run Bull Trout on the Lower Mainland's picturesque upper Pitt River.</p>

<p>In May Sea Run Bull Trout start to enter the river to spawn. These fish have spent a year or more in the ocean getting big, fat and healthy. When they reach the river they aggressively attack minnows, par, and sculpin and are full of vigour. You will discuss flies and practice streamer fishing with the swung fly.  Looking at the river: run depth, speed and water colour, and learning strategy on how to best cover water to hook these fish.</p>

<p>Travel by jet boat from Grant Narrows to the upper Pitt River with Matt Bentley of Bentley's Fishing Adventures.  Matt has lots of experience on this river and is a wealth of knowledge in the pursuit of these extremely unique Bull Trout.</p>

Bass Tying Secrets

<p>Full Day workshop focused on tying effective fly patterns for local and Okanagan Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass.</p>

<p>Wet flies and top water poppers will be tied in simple and creative ways. Plus, learn to paint with the Copic Airbrush system, stencil with Sharpies, "Foil" and more. All to create foam bodies to imitate frogs, mice, and wounded baitfish.</p>

<p>Some of the patterns you will tie are the Green Chorizo, Fettuccini Mouse, Articulated Deep Zonker, Bass Slider, and more.</p>
