When Flip Pallot challenged ECHO to answer a simple question - "Who wouldn't want more line speed?" - the Overcast series was born. Designed in collaboration with Tim Rajeff, Overcast fly rods are purpose-built for saltwater anglers facing the usual saltwater challenges: wind, distance, accuracy demands, and heavier flies.

After extensive testing, Tim and Flip determined that increased line speed starts with a precisely engineered, longer lever. The result is a 9'3" rod that balances power, control, and casting efficiency without compromise.

Flip's vision pushed ECHO beyond our traditional design limits, prioritizing performance over cost and redefining what a high-end saltwater fly rod should be.
