This is a FREE event - no need to register.

JOIN US for a day full of fun, food, presentations, and an opportunity to play with some of the new rods, reels, and lines on the market. Our primary focus is Spey casting but we will have single hand fly rods and lines for you to try too! 

For those that have never attended the M&Y spey clave this is "THE" day to come and play with all of the different two handed rods and lines available through Michael & Young. It provides an excellent opportunity to try a spey rod for the first time, to tweak your exisiting rod finding the perfect line, to check out what's new, to build on your wish list, and to socialize with all the other double handed fanatics. And, while you are at it, you might as well enjoy a free BBQ lunch, enter your name in to win one of the many prizes donated by our supporters, and watch and listen to some of the many presenters. We will be selling raffle tickets for our draws with all proceeds going to the BC Steelhead Society and the BC Federation of Fly FIshers.

  Our primary goal is to raise awareness about spey fishing and have fun, but who says we can't raise funds for some of the more active, local, non profit groups that focus their efforts on our provinces fish and fisheries.

All of our major rod and line brands are represented by their sales representatives and/or designers who will participate in our demonstrations and work with you as you give it a go. You can cast different combinations till your arms fall off. In case of inclement weather there will be a covered area. Whether your a dyed in the wool spey tosser, rank beginner or even just thinking about getting into the long rods, this day is for you!

Some of our presenters to date include some of our incredible staff and world class spey casters - Tim Arsenault, Ryan Heitz, Ruben Breitkreutz, and Teddy Cosco..

There are 6 DIFFERENT RAFFLES for these tickets plus the LIMITED PITT RIVER TRIP RAFFLES (see below). 5 high value (PREMIUM) prizes, each with their own raffle, and a GENERAL raffle with a multitude of great prizes. All 5 of the “bins” for the PREMIUM prize raffles will be at the SSBC tent and the bin for the GENERAL raffle will be at the BCFFF tent. Note you do not have to purchase tickets at both and can enter your tickets into whichever of the raffles that you choose. Make sure you put them in the “bin” with the prizes that you would like to win.
In all of the draws the winner gets their choice of prize. First ticket best prize!! If you are not present for the draw, we will get you the prize with the highest dollar value.
